MIND HER MONEY

A quick note before anything else: I have no affiliation with Claude. I just love it, so I wrote down exactly how I use it.

A step-by-step guide

How To Connect Claude To Instagram For A Full Analysis And Content Plan

From a Financial Controller & Chartered Accountant

Follow these nine steps once. Claude then reads your Instagram numbers, looks at what is working in your niche, and writes your content plan, on a schedule you choose.

Before you start

  • A Mac (macOS 11 or newer) or a Windows computer (Windows 10 or newer)
  • The Google Chrome browser
  • An Instagram account and a TikTok account you can log in to
  • A paid Claude plan - Pro is US$20 a month

Fill in your details once

These two boxes fill in the prompts further down, so you can copy them ready to use.

Step 1: Create your Claude account

Go to claude.ai and sign up with your email address or your Google account. Check your inbox for the confirmation message if one arrives.

Go to claude.ai

Step 2: Upgrade to Pro

The Chrome extension and scheduled tasks both need a paid plan. Pro is US$20 a month, and the price shown at checkout is your local price. Annual billing is also available at a discounted rate.

  1. 1Open claude.ai/upgrade.
  2. 2Choose Pro.
  3. 3Enter your payment details and confirm.
Pro has usage limits. The session limit resets every five hours, and there is also a weekly limit. A weekly content plan uses a small part of it.

Step 3: Download the Claude desktop app

Scheduled tasks run from the desktop app, so this step matters even if you already use Claude in your browser.

  1. 1Go to claude.com/download.
  2. 2Choose Mac or Windows.
  3. 3Open the downloaded file and follow it through to finish installing.
  4. 4Open Claude from your Applications folder (Mac) or Start menu (Windows).
  5. 5Sign in with the account you created in step 1.
Open the download page

Step 4: Connect Claude to your browser with Claude in Chrome

This is how Claude connects to Instagram. The extension lets Claude open pages and read them for you inside your own browser, using the logins you already have. It works in Google Chrome only, not other browsers and not on phones. It is in beta.

  1. 1Open Google Chrome.
  2. 2Go to the Chrome Web Store and search for Claude in Chrome.
  3. 3Click Add to Chrome.
  4. 4Sign in with your Claude account when asked.
  5. 5Pin it: click the puzzle piece icon in Chrome, then the pin next to Claude.
  6. 6Grant the permissions it asks for.
  7. 7Click the Claude icon in the toolbar to open the side panel.
Read the official setup page

Step 5: Log in to Instagram and TikTok in Chrome

Log in to both sites in that same Chrome window. Claude works inside your own browser, so it can only see what you can see when you are logged in. For your own numbers, open Instagram's professional dashboard once so you know where Insights lives.

Step 6: Run prompt 1: get your full Instagram analysis

Open a new chat in the Claude desktop app, paste this, and let it run. This is your first test, so you can see what your numbers look like.

Using Claude in Chrome, open Instagram Insights for [@yourhandle] and pull the last 7 days of reach, views, likes, comments, shares, saves and follower change, per post; group the posts by format; tell me which format and topic reached the most non-followers; name my best and weakest post and what the hook did in each. This is read-only - do not post, comment, like, follow, save or message anyone

Every prompt on this page ends with the same line. It tells Claude to look and never touch, so it cannot post, comment, like, follow, save or message anyone. Keep that line there if you edit a prompt.

Step 7: Run prompt 2: research your niche

This one looks outward, at what is working for other creators in your space right now.

Using Claude in Chrome, browse Instagram and TikTok for [your niche] and find 10 videos doing well above that creator's usual views; for each one note the hook in the first 3 seconds, the format, approximate views and why it is likely working; then name the 3 patterns across all 10. This is read-only - do not post, comment, like, follow, save or message anyone

Step 8: Turn both into a weekly content plan on a schedule

This prompt joins prompts 1 and 2 and writes the plan. Then you tell Claude to run it every week.

Every Sunday at 8pm, run my analytics summary and then my trend research; use both to write a 7-day content plan for [@yourhandle] where each post fixes one weak spot from my analytics and rides one trend you found; give me the topic, hook and format for each day, ideas only, no full scripts. This is read-only - do not post, comment, like, follow, save or message anyone

  1. 1In the Claude desktop app, click Scheduled in the left sidebar.
  2. 2Click + New task in the top right.
  3. 3Enter a name, paste the prompt above as the prompt, and choose a weekly frequency set for Sunday evening.
  4. 4Click Save.
Scheduled tasks only run while your computer is awake and the Claude desktop app is open. If it is asleep or closed at the scheduled time, the run is skipped and happens when the computer wakes or the app reopens, and you get a notification. Pick a time your computer is usually on.

Step 9: Check the numbers yourself

Claude reads analytics off the screen, so it can misread a figure.

  • Open Insights and spot-check two or three numbers against what Claude reports.
  • Trends are a read of what Claude saw, not a promise of what will work.
  • Never paste passwords or sensitive details into any AI.

Three things to know

  • Claude can be wrong. Check any number it gives you against the source.
  • Every prompt here ends with a read-only line, so Claude only looks. Keep it there if you write your own.
  • Do not paste passwords, bank details or your tax file number into any AI.
